After re-joining TLA i decided to start up an Isenguard army, I'm going to build up this army BLister by blister only buying new models after the last are completed, Seeming as this is the first week i'm doing well so far! I started off with a blister of Uruk-hai Bezerkers, there's going to be an awful lot of these in my army because i just love the models. I'm going to try and paint each set of three differently but this is how i've done the skin on my first (I'll get pictures as soon as possible): 1- Basecoat scorched brown. 2- Wash with Red ink/Scab Red/ Scroched Brown/Codex grey in a ratio of 2:1:1:0.5 (or 4:2:2:1 if you want whole numbers ) 3- Paint most area's leaving only the recesses dark with Red Ink/Scab Red/ Scorched brown/Fortress Grey in a ratio of 2:2:2:1 (If i remember correctly) 4- Next layer is (same colours) 2:4:4:3 5- final highlight 0:2:2:1 (If this doesn't look right then just add some more red. I used these mixes roughly and changed them little bits to et varied results) On my Uruk this looks real good so i'll get you pictures when i've based them then taken them to my mates (I don't have a camera atm Well its my birthday soon and i think i'm getting one then so pictures will be up by the end of this month) When these are finished i'm either going to get Lurtz or some Uruk Crossbowmen. Maybe i'll actually finish this army unlike all of my others. For the white hand!- D_O

Its getting closer and closer to me having a camera and just so i have a lot to show you (and to bulk out my army) I purchased the new Lurtz with bow model and a box of fighting uruk-hai. I've assembled the majority of these and base-coated them. Painting will begin soon but firstly i'll post a few proposed lists.
8 Uruks w/sheilds- 80 6 Uruks w/Xbow- 66 6 Uruk Bezerkers- 90 Lurtz- 60 Total Points 296 21 mini's, 1/3=7, 7 bowarmed.
This is created for facing my main opponent, dwarfs, but another friend has started harad so i may need to add/change it a little.
After i've painted what i have i'll have to put this army aside to finish 500 points of vampire counts, that will take me 3 or 4 weeks (4 being when i need them for) But i'll still try and get you some updates with battles and such.

I like having a different colour on the edges, it aint that bright in real life.
Lurtz is being painted in a different method which at the moment is Redder than the Bezerkerz but it was also easier to do. I just painted the model in brown upto snakebite leather highlights and then i'm now inking with a few different colours to get him the right tones, This will make my uruks more varied and is easier than the Bezerker method (The tones were very similar so hard to tell where to put them!)
Well i'll go do some more of Lurtz.

I'm still alive, and so's this army. I've kinda had a project overload at the minute but I managed to get some battle company games out of my uruks! (also played some with the new khand but they didn't fair too well. All my hero's got leg injuries in one game) My uruks were doing well but i've lost the sheet I wrote down my experience on so i'm going to have to start again with them. On the plus side I now have the Ugluk model so i'll try and get my battle company painted and posted up here soon.

Love the flesh! One thing: on my beserkers i painted the wi=hite hand on a helmet or bulging muscle , a personal touch.

some blood and white hands would make them look a little more "beserk".

I treid a white hand and screwed it up monumentally! I'll practice it on some paper or something untill I feel like adding something else to these. I'll probably do the hand in browns aswell to make it look a little oily but it will have white highlights. I've been practicing blood so I'll get to throwing that on right away.

I'm not continuing with these anymore. I got round to paint some bowmen i converted and They basically fell apart. Annoyed me too much, no more uruks, no more.
