Painting flames seems to be a bit of a burning issue here...
for references to help with lighting, try some new sites - there are usually some stories about things on fire there.

Thanks.... again Dorthonin, for your corny one liners  Well, hope is in sight. The parcel *should* be here on Wednesay, so I am going to be pumping IG out like there is no tomorow. All of them will be de-moldlined, based, and undercoated in two days. Then the plan is two days per ten man squad, and a day on the Chimera - I love my Airbrush ;D |

Easy as pie. Wander down to the local foam store ( ), buy a big lot of foam. Get random boxes that i've been using for storage, and then layer all the foam (with cut outs) into the shoe boxes. The only thing that is going to be a problem, will be storing 115 miniatures (plus three tanks - btw, Chimera nearly completley assembled, I have to detail the interor) and their storage boxes somewhere. Later on, I may make a display board... but for now, I just need to get the piles of grey guardsmen out of the way! |

Guess whos back, back again.... ;D Pictures to prove my insanity/drunkeness....   Your looking at; Three boxes of Cadian Shock Troopers (far right) Three boxes of Cadian Heavy Weapons Platoons (close right) Two tubs of GW Sand and a pack of (15) 60mm bases (above Heavy Weapons) Chimera (far centre) Loads of assorted plasticard (about ten packets - still need more sheets) Bitz box and random sprues (got all the sprues for $2 AU!) And then what i've started assembling. All of that needs to be based, assembled and undercoated by the weekend. Then next week and weekend, I will do roughly 60 Guardsmen, and leave the rest till next weekend After the weekend, its only two weeks till xmas!  |

 You really are drunk!!!!!! I could never paint (or even build) 60 shock troops, 9 heavy weapons teams and a chimera in 2 weeks!!! It takes me about 1 and a half hours to paint 2 cadians (I always paint foot troops in 2's for both 40K and lotr). I wish you the best of luck and will be watching this space very closely. Good luck, you may need it Isildurian, Lord of all Middle Earth (and Sweden)

Well, I hate to tell you guys, but its actually... 15 Storm Troopers 40 Guardsmen 10 Conscripts 65 Models <-- thats what I have to do, before xmas But as for the heavy weapons teams, its; 3 Lascannons 3 Missile Launchers 6 Mortars 3 Autocannons 2 Heavy Bolters So its 17 teams! And I'm only using one boxset, and three parts of another ;D Well.... so far I have assembled 3 Mortars 3 Missile Launchers 2 Heavy Bolters 1 Lascannon 1 Autocannon. 10 teams left to go. I have semi-assembed the Chimera. And assembled a Conscript squad aswell. Today's job = Assemble everything, bar the Chimera, I'm making so you can see the interior, and so I need more plasticard. Tonight's jpb = Make a checklist of everything I have, and then trade/sell it for different pieces on WAU. I still need about 15 Cadian Torsos, 15 Legs, 10 Vox Casters, Chimera, six Ogre Bulls, then random Space Marine weapons (plasma and melta guns... and melta bombs). Wish me luck, Isildurian, I will need it! Evilassasin - Cheers, but I aint paying for an airfare to get you down here! |

Hello all. I fell behind my schedule, my stomach/Subway called, and I took two hours, instead of twenty minutes. Instead of them all being done today, I still have twenty four guardsmen to assemble. But that won't take longer then two hours, so with my trusty iPod and (look at picture - am I drunk?), it will fly by.    That picture is old, I have added another squad to the pile. I will update in a few hours, once everything is completed. Will also put some online orders in for bitz and pieces; Fine Chain, Plasticard, Barbed Wire, Greenstuff (looking at you, Ebob). Then tomorow's job is to PVA down sand onto all of the bases, spray-undercoat it all, and get haggling for parts. Wish me luck. |

Little update. I only have one more squad to go, and the three Mortar teams. Spent most of the time tidying up, and sorting out all the sprues. The plastic recylce man will be very happy with me  |

Lol, these will be painted to my 'gaming standard' which is slightly worse then my IG Officer that I showed you lot a while back. The key to speed painting is routine. I am doing all of my infantry at once. So it is 60+ Dark Green on the flak armour. Then, once that is one, I highlight (all of them). Then once thats done, I do the bases (Scorched Brown, drybrush of Snakebite Leather, light drybrush of Bleached Bone. Then I static grass it, and paint the edges). Then I do the cloth (Snakebite Leather), and highlight(Graveyard Earth). Then the leather(Chaos Black), and highlight(I part Codex grey to about four parts black). I then basecoat the faces Dark Flesh, and basecoat the imperial symbols Codex Grey. Then highlight the symbols Skull White. AND THEN... detail the faces, spending alot of time per squad on that. Then its just a Matt Varnish with a spraycan of Testor's Dullcote. See, its easy Today's job is to base them all, and undercoat. Tomorow's is to do all the flak armour Dark Green. Wish me luck, I'll post pictures later today. EDIT: Yep, it was booze. If you look, underneath me is boxes of imported beer! |
