i need tips for sculpting hands/gloves and sharp edges. i started with a ball to make the hands. fingers are easy but the thumb was difficult to make. also the complete shape of the hand was difficult to make. the helmet for my figure was similar to gimlis one, but i didnt got the edges sharp. i used your sculpting armatures , gf9-sculpting set, clay shapers, scalpell, my own created tolls, and green stuff, to make the figure. (i dont have a digital camera, so i cant send a picture)
please help me solve my problems by replying to my thread, or post a tutorial.

Hands are easiest to do when you sculpt onto something - like the handle of a sword say - so this is where we'll start. The basic idea is to first create a mitton. Next we shape the hand giving it 3 distinct flats - the back of the hand - the fingers and fingertips. This is done with the shaper chisel or a flat tool. The fingers are pressed into the hand starting with the forefinger - and ending with the little finger. Any excess mitton is removed if the little finger is left looking fat. Press lightly on the back of the hand to show the bones in the back of the hand and lastly the thumb is simply a tiny sausage of putty added at the end.

If you're making a floating hand - ie not holding something thats very hard. A fist is easiest - an open hand I still have trouble with myself. But the idea is the same, make a mitton first.

Excellent Ebob!
We should have a sticky'ed thread, which has little guides like this one, as a post inside it. You know, that ear-scuplting post you made a while back, coupled with this hand one,etc - it could be a thread which will have everything. Scupltor's Bible it could be called!
