I am in the middle of sculpting a dragon for LOTR and am having a hard time smoothing out the long spikes and teeth. When I use a clay shaper, It doesn't seem big enough, and I end up with lines in between each of the strokes. Any tips?

Hmm. If they're that big you could probably use your fingers? I often lick my finger and smooth out large areas when I'm doing horses.

Thanks, I'll give it a try.

Try rolling firmed-up putty into cones of the right size and shape; curving them slightly; letting them cure fully; and cutting them to length. They should be fairly easy to fix with fresh putty and maybe a pin.
