looks a little like the tribes, but considerably different. he looks more "animal" than the tribes

I think that your picture looks more samurai-ish than the tribes of the east. It makes it look pretty cool and different . I also think that dwarfs would make a cool army, or sort of like tyranids but more daemonic.

I would favour something that would be historical but suit adaptation to use for the fiefdoms of western Gondor or be useable as Breemen etc. I am using my Tribes as a variation on the many races that answered the call of Sauron.

i agree totally with Dorthonion, keep along the lined of historical figures, which we may use in Tolkiens world. Something more tribal, like natives (which could be used as men of the far south, maybe make them look like Muhad hunters)

I must also agree with Dorth, nothing quite as cool as historical models which fit in with Tolkien's world! I'm aware GW dealt with the fiefdoms with conversion ideas, but if Ebob brought some cool looking Normans or Saxons, I feel they would fit the bill a bit more to my taste.
