You never stop, do you mate?
Your hiatus was a good call - this influx is through the roof!
What type of spider are you going for?

It's on a 40mm base. I modelled it on a UK house spider - but now I want it to be really mean! I'm thinking of doing the mouth like The Predator.
Casting is a problem - not sure of the solution yet - but I'll worry about that later. Options are - separate legs (not keen on that) or perhaps I can twist them so they are flatter for casting - and then you'd just need to twist them down again to pose it. If the legs are kept fairly thin - then creating new poses will just be matter of a simple tweak with the pliers.
(I had to look up the word 'hiatus' - you mean my period of inactivity for the last 4 months - that was my silly idea of entering myself into the LOTR Grand Tournament without any armies prepared, so spent Jan-March painting orcs and Rohirrim! but the GT was fantastic and now I have two armies, which need tweeking, but are usable).
The driving force now is that I have been made redundant at work, so now's my chance to go Ebob full time. It's a gamble, but its now or never.

Ooh - creepy. Nice, in an arachnphobia-inducing manner.

Haha! Your the best Ebob! Its alright though mate, I'm glad your back into the game. Although I don't think its my place to comment on work issues. Still, I'm sure whatever happens will happen. Good luck on the rest of the business - your right, this is a good chance to expand the Ebob Miniature range. PS: Next time I'll use smaller words

it looks great and sorry to hear about your job.
i have one query though the legs look a slight problem to me as they are very close to the edge of the base which might make it a slight problem.

Ooh - creepy. Nice, in an arachnphobia-inducing manner. I am arachnophobic, although I can stand a model spider. However, in the middle of the night I'll probably wake up, see the giant spider sillouette and creep out. Unlucky Ebob on the job, but at leats you didn't quit a job to do the full time and if it doesn't work out, good luck in any future interviews. If it des wrk out I intend to be here supporting you with the full power of my unfortunately limited pocket money

nice , I love the texture and the spines, if the rock is on the base now, will it be part opf the casted miniature, or wil it come with an optional sculpted base?

forget the base - I just plopped a rock on it. It'll only come with normal 40mm base.
