Ebob
An absolute brilliant sculpt - can't wait for the highlander figures to be released.
Any chance of more spearmen (makes a change from all the axes and claymores), also an archer or two wouldn't go wrong. Also any chance of a leader figure wearing some chainmail.

Huzzah, my first post on the Ebob Forums! Anyway, moving swiftly onwards. Rather than post this in all the Highlander threads, I'll just say it here. These sculpts are beautiful, exceptionally so! They may be my first purchases from EM (sorry Ebob, but I don't have unlimited Credit Card access yet.... ), and certainly won't be my last if you continue to make these! Any chance of information regarding the time line? Will you be making an accompanying range for the army of Edward Longshanks? Will there be a William Wallace miniature? Will they use the LOTR ruleset? Do rules need designing for them... ? Yes, I'm an eager beaver, but these sculpts are so incredible that I feel all tingly and excited..... Great work once again Ebob-a credit to your skills.

Yes to all above really - I plan to develop a rule set and Adam Troke has promised to cast an expert eye over it and offer any advice needed. The miniatures are in development now - there will be English knights of course.
I'm excited by these too.
William Wallace may appear more true the historical than movie however as he should go into battle in armour after Stirling when he become protector of Scotland.

with the english knights remember there should be no more than 20 to a battle field considering that there is only one or 2 regions fighting the english army if i remember correctly was around a 1/3 of archers for going to battle and would rarley use ignited arrows much as the movies etc lead us to belive

I'm half-Scot myself - and I'm travelling up to Scotland next week to visit Stirling castle and see the Wallace sword and hopefully get some inspiration and maybe some more books and research material.
From what I have read, the English armies at Stirling and Bannockburn etc consisted mostly of heavy cavalry, although greater numbers of infantry were present - they did not take part in the fighting, the cavalry charged headlong first thinking they could decimate the Scots. The English infantry consisted mostly of longbowmen who were decisive at Falkirk - while the Scots had shortbows - their nos. were mostly pikemen. The English armies therefore would be best represented with armoured cavalry and some bowmen in reserve - while the Scots will be made up of mostly pike - but also some highlanders and archers. Some light cavalry also on the Scots side but not many.
The Irish, contrary to movie did not change sides - the Welsh were more likely to swap sides - and in fact refused to fight at Falkirk if I remember correctly because of the in-fighting with the English on the journey to Scotland.
The Scots are always outnumbered by the English - but they have greater courage and purpose then the weary and starving English forces. Wallace and Morey were master tacticians also, and Wallace was the inventor of the 'shiltrom' a circular formation of pikemen.

The Visitors Centre at Bannockburn has some very good maps and models of the battlefield, and if you walk to the huge flagpole, you can see some of the terrain, though it is drier and obviously more built up now. I will be in that area soon, sans claymore (d**n).
