Hey folks. This is great, the first army diary to be posted up is here. I was going to do my Imperial Guard army, but I changed my mind when I recalled the Mumak of Harad sitting on my shelf, half built. So here we go, the diary of the making of my (at the moment - points limit may increase) 500 point army of Harad. So, at the moment i have no clear plan for what I'm doing with it, but I have a few bits and pieces and plenty of cash to get the rest. All I know for sure is that I have my Mumak already, complete with the 12 Haradrim Warriors and Mumak commander that it came with to build and paint up. I also have a further 11 Haradrim warriors courtesy of Games Workshop Aberdeen. One of the archers in the original sprue was malformed (missing its head, bow arm and most of the torso) so they gave me another sprue to compensate. See, despite extortionate price hikes, they're nice people. Right, so at the moment, I've began construction on the Mumak, but I'm building it in stages so it may take a while. So far I have the head, howdah and body put together as well as having cut out the twelve replacement warriors and the commander. I've left the other 11 with thoughts of conversion...... OK, so its not much to go on just now, but expect a fully fledged army list to come up soon, along with (hopefully) pics of the mighty beast I'm currently working on. Watch this space Isildurian

Ok, here's my first update already, I spent last night trying to come up with an army list and I posted what I came up with in the army construction forum for a bit of feedback before I got started on actually buying it. So if you want to see how it started, check it out at this address; www.thelastalliance.com/index.php?pid=view_replies&thread_id=42402&forum_id=13I'll post up the final copy in a few days once its had time to be ripped apart by TLA members.

News Update:-
After using up half of my greenstuff, I can now confirm that Kerfunkeldink, War Mumak of the Haradrim and Bane of the Rohirrim is now pretty much finished construction. Apart from the head, main howdah, forky/prongy bit for the mahud, the tusk weapons and the base (ok, so it doesn't sound finished...), it is all put together, so I'll be taking piccies soon and try to get them hosted somewhere, possibly TLA, possibly not. We shall see. It is in so many separate pieces because it makes painting the details easier for me, and thus gives a better looking model in the long run.
My second bit of news is that my Army list will not be posted here anymore, for it needs re-worked a little bitty. Even after I have a final draft, it will be a "for my eyes only" type of thing. This is because my two possible opponents are both already trying to figure out a way of beating it, and having the full list available to them would only make it easier. Therefore shall all see what I'm making, the colour schemes and the final results, the army list shall not be finalised or posted here until I am finished building the force and have tested it out against the friends mentioned above. It does kind of defeat the purpose of this, but it will still be a diary of the creation of my army, just with a difference.
Ok, wish me luck with my semi-secret army...

Ok, I've painted up the top tower if the Howdah for Kerfunkeldink (hehehe - such an ace name) and the Mumak Commander (who will probably be used as a chieftan on foot as I'm getting a Mahud).
So - colour schemes (i have no pics as of yet, maybe once I've finished the next layer of the howdah) Cloth - painted with a mix of about 40/60 Red Gore and Dark Flesh highlghted with approx. 70/30 Red Gore and Dark Flesh Next layed of pure Red Gore Finished off with Blood Red
Wickerwork - Scorched Brown Bestial Brown (overbrush) Snakebite Leather (drybrush) Brown Ink (wash)
Wood - Scorched Brown Bestial Brown
Ropes - Graveyard Earth Brown Ink (wash) Graveyard Earth (Drybrush)
I'll post up some pics once I've finished the next tier down on the Howdah, along with the two warriors that go in it.

Hey Guys, me again! Ok, I'm off school today due to heavy snowfall, so I thought it was about time you guys got some pictures of what I've been up to. First up, my howdah is just about finished, just the rear bits of cloth to finish painting. Here are some pics; AS for actual warriors, I've currently painted two Haradrim (most of a third, but he's not shown here) and the Mumak Commander. Again, here's a couple of pics. As for painting the warriors; purple cloth - Liche Purple Liche Purple, Bleached Bone (50:50) Liche Purple, Bleached Bone (30:70) Red Cloth - Same as Howdah Bone - Bestial Brown Kommando Khaki Bleached Bone Skull White Wood - Same as Howdah Gold - Dwarf Bronze Chestnut Ink Dwarf Bronze Shining Gold Skin - Bestial Brown Dwarf Flesh Elf Flesh Sashes, ties etc - Graveyard Earth Brown Ink Graveyard Earth Thats it for painting the Haradrim Warriors. I should have updated earlier, but these things kept on getting away from me, what with modifying the magazine I'm making, painting up Imperial Guard stuff (I've just started the Leman Russ I got for Christmas), and the impending doom of exams. On the plus side, Suladan is primed, ready for painting as are all the HAradrim Warriors I have. On top of that, I've started on the behemoth of a base that the Mimak comes with too. Well, thats all for now folks! Isildurian

OK, its been a very long time since you got any news of any kind here, so I thought I'd update you all. First off, I'm sorry that I have no new pictures, but its late at night and I'm too tired to hold the camera straight. Secondly, I have excuses for my absence - I have exams starting on the 3rd (Standard Grades - Scottish GCSE's or whatever ye Americans are calling them these days) and I have become unavoidably hooked on an online game, Urban Dead over the past few months, being the semi-co-founder of The Randoms group. Btw, if anyone on here joins this game from the links supplied, please join our group (the link to our sign up page is on the second page I gave you). Say your from Ebob and mention either HerrStefantheGreat or Stephano2 - both me- and we'll welcome you with open arms. Anyway, back on topic. I've been a busy little bee. I've got most of the base and all of the howdah finished, along with 5 Haradrim Warriors and Suladan on foot. I've also started to convert a new set of Warriors of Minas Tirith (that makes 72 in total) to co-incide with Spod's article on TLA. Erm.. what else have I done... Not much really. See, all that cr@p about Urban dead and very little painting stuff. Ah well, thats just the way things are.
