Hey ebob, once the rebellion is well under way, and the ranges have been expanded more. Do you plan on publishing your own set of rules, a nice colour rulebook would be a very nice addition, though i have no idea of costs ect...
Also, seemed the ebob shop may need expanding with all the new goodness coming!
Matt.

Yes, that would be nice - but I'd probably be looking for at least £1,000 to get anything printed - I'd have to think hard about that - but that would be great.
The shop may need reorganizing into sections - I've already separated out the tools - but I might need a Rebellion page on it's own pretty soon.

I was thinking so too, with the new sculpts popping up so quick. As for the rulebook, i shall get the next issue of WI which will keep me busy for a while, but if you do produce a rulebook, put me down for one Matt

Why not publish the rule book through lulu.com: you already have it as a PDF, you would just need to open an account and load it up - no cost outlay and the quality, while not 100% for photographic reproductions, is still very good. They print it when it is ordered.
I have done one book through it already, and am awaiting a proof copy for a second and the process is remarakably simple.
At least worth looking into.
Best, Sean.

Wow, that is a cool idea, how much does it cost each?

- for the producer of the book it would cost nothing, beyond the purchase of one copy as a poof to check things over before making it publicly available (easily less than five pounds considering the page extant).
The public could order it direct from lulu.com at a cost set by the creator of the rules. The point is that Ebo would have no outlay and no danger of filling his room with copies of the rules! From my calculations, even if Ebo charged five Uk pounds for the rules, he would still make a small profit for time spend producing them in the first place!
It is the way to go!
best, Sean.

I had a look at the website and it looks great Ebob.
I would wait until you have a more finalized rulebook, though.
Thanks for the great idea Sean.
The only thing I am not sure of is if you can have a colored background on the pages?

- it is possible: it just costs more.
For instance, I recently co-produced a 108 page full colour book which costs just shy of £13:00 to produce. So the one copy I had to purchase cost me that as a proof to make sure everything was okay. Then it was just made availabe on line and is only printed when ordered - so that has been my only outlay (were the proof to oint up errors though I would have had to correct the film and reload it up and purchase another proof before making it available).
Were it in black and white the cost would have been singnificanly less.
The costs are worked out for a) the type of binding - perfect bound costs more than saddlestitch and b) the number of pages. If memory serves me right it costs 4 pence per black and white page, 9 pence per colour page. It is not possible to mix and match. The book must be printed all colour or all black and white.
In regards to different editions/revisions to the rules, it is possible to delete one version / book so it is no longer available and make available a new version only.
Rules seem to be revised that often though I think additional material / clarification could easily be incorporated on the web rather than having to produce new versions of the rules.
I still say give it ago! It looks good as is and ebo could try out a proof at least to see if they are happy to go down this route. I am willing to help out if need be, and if I get stuck I know a near expert on publishing who has also tried out lulu.com
best, Sean.

Wow, only 13 pounds!
I would gladly pay that for a nice rulebook.

- the £13:00 is for a full colour 108 page photographic book. The rules, as they are, in full colour, would be a lot cheaper. Perhaps no more than £5:00.
The point is though, to reference an earlier post by Ebo, it would be afordable.
best, Sean.

That sounds really intriguing Sean, thanks for that. I'll look into it in detail when I get to that stage. At the moment the rules are going through another re-write, so I'm nowhere close to print stage yet - but I may conatact you nearer that time and discuss this lulu thing if thats ok.
