They are classed as 'nobles' or minor heroes.
As such they should be based on the 'heroic' 40mm bases.
They may only be purchased as cavalry - (when thrown from the horse they would have a model based on the English knight with 30mm base)
As minor heroes they may move independently and are not required to be led by a hero as other units (although they may be so formed into units and led by a named hero if the player so chooses)
They are not required to make unit morale tests (because they can operate individually).
They may not recieve initiative dice.
They cannot command other troop types, but they may command up to 2 personal squires each.
(squire models will come in future, but for now use ordinary mounted infantry models)
Squires are based on standard 40mm bases.
The squires will be like personal body guard and must stay within 3 inches.
Squires may carry the knight's personal standard (a small version of a banner). A standard is not a banner, so the model is still based on a standard 40mm base - NOT a 50mm base.
The standard (within 3 inches) gives the knight 1 free luck point per turn (not accumulative)
When the knight has fallen from his horse he may take the horse from one of his squires provided the squire model is in base contact - this is done at cost of the squire model (remove the squire model) - must spend one turn not moving. The knight can take his squire's horse at any time provided he moves into base contact with the squire.
If the knight falls while charging, the squires must take 1 turn to stop - moving at maximum minimum distance of 5" before turning round to go back for their Knight. They may then move to base contact and swap horse. The Squire model is removed from the board and the knight regains a horse.
