After a prolonged absence the pikies are coming back into production. This time they will come with a small integral base rather than the base tabs and will be supplied with hard wire pikes rather than the floppy white metal ones supplied previously. They'll be sold as a set of 16 miniatures, and will have some modifications to poses in addition to the original models. The wire pikes supplied will be 100mm in length, but for Scots pike they should be cut down to 60mm. This is easily done with wire cutters/pliers. I could supply 60mm pikes - but I will leave them longer as folk wishing to represent later periods will require longer pikes and also long pikes are useful for flag bearers - so I'll leave them supplied as 100mm and let the customer reduce the length as desired. Separate shields will no longer be included, instead six of the miniatures will have shields cast on the arm.

Will the integrated tabs still fit on the round plastic bases for infantry? Or will they need to be trimmed?

On this release the separate shields will no longer be included. Putting shields in the mould reduces the number of minis in the mould - to increase my profit margin without increasing the cost on the miniatures I need to save on some the extra scraps in the mould.
Instead 6 of the 16 miniatures will have shields cast on the model. This will enable the front rank basically to have shields.
At some point however I may do a weapons mould which just has weapons and shields etc.

Perfekt! I am very glad to hear that since I wanted to finish a whole unit of them in order to have a Stirling bridge troop. The new base looks good - it is really flat and I think sand will be enough to base it nice. The steel pikes are great! Nice picture
