The gaming table will need to be either 4' square or 4' x 6' for larger games.
It's a good idea to make table sections 2' x 4'. In this way you can easily adjust the size of the table from 4' length to 6' - and the boards themselves are easily transported.
I intend to make a wide river section which can be used for either Bannockburn or Stirling scenarios.

Would there be a bridge for the Bannockburn scenario?

No, not for Bannockburn - but you can put a couple of narrow fords accross the river.

The thing with Bannockburn was the English were driven into the river.
I want to build Stirling bridge - but the river will be wide - about 1.5 ft - and a long narrow wooden bridge only 2 horses width.

Would the bannockburn river aslo be accurate at 1.5 feet or would two seperate boards be better?
90mm bridge should work well (3 foot or 2 non cavalry)

if you are planning for bridges i would check out Zvezda as i saw earlier that they should plastic kits for bridges and also some of there medieval castles might be useful for Rebellion as well.

Spot on - it's in the Bannockburn Museum - and the minis were at best 10mm I say. But I want to make something similar in 28mm. No need for it to be too huge - but I think if the river was 18 to 20" wide - and the bridge spanning it would be great. The bridge according to the records was only 2 horses wide. I think I'd go for 60 or 70mm wide - so cavalry would be staggered, not quite 2 abreast but in a zig zag. The idea is you have an inferior scottish force. You attack when the English are crossing - cut off the end of the bridge to prevent reenforcements and destroy the half that have crossed the river. Something like.. a 600pt Scots army vs a 1000pt English army, objective to destroy half the English force. As you can see, I haven't given this too much thought

Great, this will fit perfectly on a 2'X4' section of gaming table. This project probably will not start untill summer, but I will post WIP shots when I can.
Do you have any closer up shots of the bridge or a link to the site you found the picture on?
