Just a heads up that a revised edition of the rules will be available very soon to download. Most of the rules have been revised, but most significantly the use of shields and archery are different from before. The new rules will include a second document 'Forces of the Rebellion' - army lists for constructing appropriate forces for the game including Welsh, Irish and French army lists, various Scottish and English lists of course and acceptable alliances between the various rosters.

Rules will be download - free - and black and white to reduce the file size.
No chance of a printed version until their perfect, with no mistakes

The rules will be split into 3 documents now. The main rules The character and warrior profiles and Forces of the Rebellion (army lists) You can check out the main rules as they are currently, I haven't fully checked it - but you guys might as well put any comments in to the editor now. www.ebobminiatures.com/files/rebellionv601.pdf

I went directly to the shield and archery rules to see how they changed. The only comment that comes to mind right off the bat has to do with the small shield. You say that a small shield can be used with a two-handed weapon. Am I correct to assume this means spears and pikes, and not two-handed swords, or two-handed axes?
Aside from that, I really like what you've done with them.

All two handed weapons. A small shield is on the arm rather than held in the hand so it is possible still to use any two handed weapon, but maybe there should be a -1 penalty ? as it must be a bit more awkward.

I'm not too familiar with the specifics of this combination. But I'd guess that if you were trying to swing a 2-handed sword with a small shield on your arm, you'd be less effective at it than if you were unemcumbered. So, if it's allowed, I'd say it should have a penalty.

Ok - well these are DRAFT and not final versions.. but just for you.. The main rules: www.ebobminiatures.com/files/rebellionv601.pdfArmy lists: www.ebobminiatures.com/files/fotr.pdfForces of the Rebellion currently only has early army lists - but will also include late army lists Edward II vs Robert the Bruce. I am still working on the Profiles. Army lists: www.ebobminiatures.com/files/profiles.pdfI would like a version of the rules translated to German. I will need some help with this. The best I can do is to use an online translator, but it is not likely to do a good job. Here is an example: Page 3 translated using Babel Fish. www.ebobminiatures.com/files/page3.pdfHow much work is needed to tidy up the text into perfect translation? Is it worth me using the translator to get most of it - or would it be easier for someone simply to translate from the English? It is important that the exact meaning of each rule is translated acurately.

the army lists look great i will have to get some more men and teach one of my bros to play. i have one small points you have spelled the name of one of Robert de Brus brothers names wroung i think you have put "niel" when i think it sould be "neil"
and i dont understand what you mean by "Any Scottish ‘hero of *****’ are they just any hero that where at the battel that have a profiles but that where not in the list.

The original spelling of his name is Niel. Neil is the modern spelling. Bruce should also be spellt Brus. But I need to make sure I have been consistent throughout - I think I've spelled it both ways.
It's not possible to list all the named knights at say Stirling because there'd be over 30 - so I have listed the 3 commanders or most famous heroes - others will be added to the profiles and will state what army lists they can be included in.
Also, if you did your own research and found a named hero that you'd like to use, you may generate a random profile and include him in your list.
