Not sure if this is the right place for this, so appologies if it is. I'm currently working on a sculpt for a friend of mine based one a piece of his artwork ( LINK). It's my first sculpt beyong the normal adding cloaks/filling gaps/etc for conversions, so I thought that it would be worth posting WIP pics here for feedback and tips as I progress. (thanks in advance to anyone who gives it ) Well, here are the WIPs: And here's a WIP of a previous stage next to a Saruman mini for scale comparison:

Whats the cobweb effect? is that superglue all over it? You need to avoid that! wash your hands and avoid using superglue.

Think it could be superglue - strange thing is that it's not that noticable in real life (although it is visable admitantly :/).
The reason I've used superglue is that the plasticard armour has been aplied after the greenstuff underneath has set, so there's no other way to attach it. Should I be adding the plasticard while the greenstuff is still 'wet' (sorry, don't know the correct term) instead? Or should plasticard be avoided? also, should I be sculpting the head seperate, or should it be sculpted onto the body to reduce the ammount of glue used?

that depends entirely on wether you sculpt a one off that you're going to paint or if you sculpt something intended for moulding. Plastic and superglue should be avoided if for moulding because both melt in the heat of the mould. You'd have to pay extra for a cold cure master mould to be made first - increasing your moulding costs by about £70 unecessarily.
The armour could simply have been done in putty. The superglue is all over the model in stringly mess - you must have a very old or very thick superglue. Throw it away and get a new one - use a thin liquid one, but use it sparingly.

Thanks for the tips eBob. I'll keep them in mind for future sculpts (at the minute I'm just practising the skills, so castability is not that much of an issue just yet, and it may never be an issue).
